The Messerschmitt Me 410 Hornisse ("Hornet") was a German heavy fighter and Schnellbomber used by the Luftwaffe during World War II. Though essentially an incremental improvement of the Me 210, it had a new wing plan, longer fuselage, and engines of greater power. The changes were significant enough to be designated the Me 410.

HPH faithful to the tradition that wants to make some of the most successful, rare themes but also excellent quality resin model kits , have been released (almost 3 years ago) a model of the not so famous Me 410A-1 , known also as Hornisse (Hornet) .
In a big (55x30x5 cm) box , are presend ~110 resin parts , 8 clear resin , ~20 turned metal parts , one big fret of unpainted photo etched parts , one mid sized fret with pre-painted photo etched , fabric seatbelts from HGW , a large (15x22 cm) page with decals for two aircrafts and vinyl painting masks for the canopy and position lights . Also a Cd with instructions manual for building the model .
I will particularly emphasize the absence of the little chocolate that is always offered in the boxes of HPH !
A really treasure in such a small box , so let's start counting the parts one by one.

Big parts first , fuselage : comes in two halves with one reinforcement beam on one of the biggest side . The resin is thick enough for safe "play" and the same time as long as it is smooth and soft for easy handling , sanding , drilling etc .It is free of bubbles and annoying signs and it looks like extra attention has been paid or some new technique has been used in molding-casting, possibly some new resin .

4

Details on external surfaces are beyond any expectations with full riveting-paneling in fine lines and smooth , clear surfaces without any scratch or sign of casting. Also provides full framing on cockpit sidewalls , optional open or closed bomb bay with full framing too (it will be a pity to leave it closed as long as its interior is full) and detailed tail wheel bay .

The halves are straight and also  are equipped with slots to put your own guides on one side, whatever you choose to easily reach the best possible fit of both sides .
Wings are at the same high quality in details like rivets and panel lines as well fine surfaces .
Off course there are separate airbrakes/cooling flaps , ailerons and flaps with full inner details either on resin , either as photo etched parts .
The wing is coming in three parts , one big for the lower surfaces (including the fuselage belly under the cockpit) and two for the upper surfaces .

Very clever , HPH provides the main (central) beam of the wing that helps to achieve the right dithedral .Into the wing as separate parts , coming also the wheel wells with all the frames , pipping and tubbing that is presend in this area .Radiators are provided too with it's covers and a photo etched part for represending the cooling grilles .More photo etched providing for all the visible inner details at the edges of the "moveable" parts and their nests and for the moving brackets for flaps etc.

On the wings are also the engine nacelles . Many parts are coming in there about internal structure , radiators , exhausts , undercarriage structure and off course the well covers with all it's internal details. Back on the cockpit area : everything is in order , pilot's and gunner/navigation seats with fabric belts , cockpit thub with choice between relief or photo etched side consoles and instrument panel , realistic stick , beautiful rudder padals , full levers , buttons , fuses etc and all the navigation instruments for the rear cockpit area .

Over the cockpit is a nice , very clear resin canopy in five parts , with fine frame and a full internal structure including handles , tubing frame , ropes and the antena mast. In the rear part of the fuselage are giving two diaphragms which in combination with the existing detail form a very plausible nest for the tail wheel that comes in three parts : main leg , scissor and wheel. Tail surfaces are comes in three main parts (main tail and two horizontal) with the rudder and elevators as separates for glueing in your desired position .

Finalizing the building we may find a very detailed bomb bay contains all the necessary weapons : 2xMG 17 machine guns and 2xMG 151 cannons together with preasure ait bottles , bomb hinges , ammo boxes , internal structure , pipping , cabling etc .
